چکیده

Bioremediation is a promising technique that can be used to decrease the environmental discharge of Heavy Metal (HM) such as copper, and zinc. Although studies have addressed cytotoxic effects HMs, however, effect HMs on geometry bacterial species Spirulina platensis (S. platensis) remains unknown. Quantitative analysis parameters cell perimeter, count, distribution shall greatly improve efficiency monitoring. Therefore, this study demonstrates use an open-source image tool (ImageJ/Fiji) quantify aforementioned analyze extent damage caused by lethal concentration > 2 mg/L Cu2+ 6 Zn2+ which disintegrates S. cells into smaller fragments subsequently affects their structural in perimeter distribution. In summary, article platform geometric microbes for

Spirulina platensis growth in open raceway ponds using fresh water supplemented with carbon, nitrogen and metal ions.

To investigate the feasibility of using fresh water from Mangueira Lagoon (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil) for biomass production in open raceway ponds (0.7 m long, 0.18 m wide, 0.075 m deep) we studied the influence of nutrient addition (carbon as sodium bicarbonate, nitrogen as urea, phosphate, sulfate, ferric iron, magnesium and potassium) on the growth rate of the cyanobacteria Spirulina platens...

Alginate immobilization of Spirulina platensis for wastewater treatment.

Immobilization of cyanobacterium Spirulina platensis in sodium alginate (1.5 %) gave the best quality of bead and 15-16 beads were formed per mL of aqueous solution of alginate. The immobilized cells were used in a batch process for treatment of diluted sewage. After 8 days, 95 % of BOD5, 77 % of COD, 90 % of ammonia, and 94 % of TSS were removed.

Fragmentation of Very High Energy Heavy Ions

We present experimental results on fragmentation charge-changing cross sections of 158 A GeV lead ions (charge Z = 82e) incident on Cu and CR39 targets. To detect and identify the relativistic ions, the nuclear track detector CR39 was used. When an ion crosses a nuclear track detector foil, it produces damages at the level of molecular bonds, forming the so called “latent track”. During the che...

Mineral profile of edible algae Spirulina platensis

Spirulina platensis, is a photosynthetic, filamentous, spiral-shaped, multicellular and bluegreen micro alga. As it contains chlorophyll a, like higher plants, botanists classify it as a micro alga belonging to Cyanophyceae class; but according to bacteriologists it is a bacterium due to its prokaryotic structure. Mexicans (Aztecs) started using this microorganism as human food. Its chemical co...

Cyanobacteria Spirulina Platensis Basic Protein C-Phycocyanin and Zn(II) Ions

The interaction of Zn(II) ions with cyanobacteria Spirulina platensis basic protein C-phycocyanin (C-PC) is studied by fluorescence spectroscopy.Stern–Volmer quenching constant value for Zn(II)–C-PC is determined. The binding energy of Zn(II) ions with C-phycocyanin is determined using equilibrium dialysis and atomic absorption spectroscopy. Cooperative binding of Zn(II) ions with C-phycocyanin...
